Hi Reader,
It’s been a while since my last newsletter, and there’s a good reason.
The past couple of months have been a whirlwind.
I launched my brand-new workshop Freelance Launchpad, where I teach photographers how to land their first freelance client in 90 days. Over 70 students joined and I’m incredibly proud of what we created together.
Then I flew to Sydney for FRMEFEST, the first-of-its-kind event for photographers, filmmakers, and content creators. I presented an Automotive Photography Masterclass and sat on a panel about turning your passion into a business.
After a crazy June and July, things are finally settling down, and I’m working on some super cool content before gearing up for more workshops later in the year.
But I’ll be honest, after all that, I lost a lot of momentum.
And that’s okay.
In my experience, progress is never perfectly linear. There are always ups and downs, and no one (including me) stays in peak flow all the time.
The important thing is to keep moving forward in whatever way you can.
Some days that might mean rest, a good night’s sleep, and eating well.
Other days it’s sitting at the desk and tackling the hard stuff head-on.
When I feel stuck, I go back to basics:
- Revisit my goals
- Map out the next steps
- Pick 1–3 tasks to get the ball rolling again
There’s a quote from Alex Hormozi that’s stuck with me:
“Success lies in the work you’re avoiding.”
Every time I lean into that, things start to shift.
Right now, I’m tackling the work I’ve been avoiding and I’m already feeling the gears turning again.
What about you?
What’s something you’ve been avoiding that might be the key to your next breakthrough?
Or, what’s your go-to move when you need to kickstart momentum?
Hit reply and let me know. I read every single message.
Ben
