Hey Reader,
If you’re struggling to post consistently…
You’re not alone.
Most photographers/creators struggle with it.
And it's not because of laziness.
It's because people just haven't built up their Consistent Content Muscle.
I've post over 2,000 times in 3.5 years and I can tell you none of that relied on motivation.
I just trained my consistency.
Here’s how I did it:
Level 1: Copy.
When I started, I had no idea what to post.
So I “copied” others.
Not literally stealing…
But taking inspiration from what was already working.
Because once you apply it to:
• Your photos
• Your videos
• Your perspective
It becomes your own.
This is how you start to find your voice and develop your consistency from the ground up.
So find a reel/video idea from another creator that you think you could recreate easily, and then copy it shot-for-shot and cut-for-cut.
Do that 1-3 times per week and post it! (Ideally post reels/videos to start with)
Level 2: Document, don't create.
This is where things change.
Instead of trying to constantly create new ideas…
Just document what you’re already doing.
Shoots.
Editing sessions.
Behind the scenes.
Start a series. (Day 1 trying to become a full-time photographer)
This is the most sustainable way to stay consistent.
It’s what I still do now with my POV photography content.
Level 3: Content Ideas & Planning.
Now you combine everything:
• What works (Level 1)
• What you do daily (Level 2)
And layer in:
• Creating scripted content based on topics and ideas that you have seen your audience requesting.
• A simple content plan (plan out your content 1–2 weeks ahead so you never get stuff with what to edit).
Then the key is to:
Start small… and build.
I didn’t post every day from the start.
I went:
• 1 post per week
• 3 per week (Mon, Wed, Fri)
• Then doubled up (Posting twice on Mon, Wed, Fri, a video and a post)
• Then scaled from there
Consistency isn’t about going all in.
It’s about building momentum slowly and sustainably.
If you’re stuck right now, don’t overthink it.
Start with Level 1.
If you're enjoying my newsletters, I have a quick favour to ask:
Please let me know if you have any topics that you would like me to discuss in the coming weeks and I'll be sure to write about them for you!
And if this newsletter was useful, reply with “YES” so I know to send more like this.
